2025 Annual General Meeting
Thank you to all who joined us for our Annual General Meeting, both in person and on Zoom. We are grateful for your support, shown through your attendance, renewed memberships and generous donations to Wayside House. Here is a transcript of George Strong’s talk, titled, AS I HAVE LOVED YOU” (PDF). Enjoy.
Our guest speaker, George Strong, is a long-time Christian Science Nurse and former Administrator of Fern Lodge in Castro Valley, California.
George Strong has been a Christian Science nurse since 1975, listed in The Christian Science Journal since 1980. His nursing experience includes private duty nursing, and nursing in facilities, where he held the positions of On-Job Trainer and Assistant Director of Nursing Services at Fern Lodge, a Christian Science nursing facility in Castro Valley, CA. George was administrator at Fern Lodge from 1981 until 2023.
For several years he served as an accreditation inspector for The Commission for Accreditation of Christian Science Nursing Facilities.
George has been taking calls as a Christian Science practitioner since 1994. He is a member of First Church of Christ, Scientist, Hayward California, and has served as First Reader, Treasurer, and on the branch church executive board. Since 1985 George has taught each of the classes in Sunday School.
For more than 20 years, he was a member of the board of directors of The Principle Foundation, a national benevolence organization.
Three of George’s articles have been published, one in the Sentinel and two in the Journal. In addition, two of his healings have been published, both in the Sentinel. He has addressed three Christian Science pupils’ associations and given metaphysical talks for more than 15 Christian Science nursing facilities, visiting nurse services, and benevolence organizations. George has spoken with staff members at 2 local hospitals, and with medical nursing students at a college, and a high school class studying comparative religion.

Annual General Meeting 2024
Our Annual General Meeting was held on September 7, 2024.
Everyone at Wayside House would like to thank those who participated in and helped to make our 2024 AGM such a lovely event this year. Thanks to Ali for giving us the text of her inspirational talk, we hope you enjoy it.
Our AGM guest speaker was Alexandra Ziesler, CS
A Christian Scientist her whole life, Ali Ziesler, C.S., is
an active student of its teachings and a participant in
its culture. She engages with the Christian Science
cause through its publications, camps, organizations,
churches, community efforts, and individual practice.
She holds a Master’s degree in Communication and
has management experience in news and publishing,
including two years at The Christian Science Monitor.
Ali enjoys skiing and hiking and is raising three boys
with her husband in Park City, UT.
The title of her talk was “The Warm Embrace.”
